Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Sharon Spurrell, a
custodian at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School. Sharon was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“Sharon is a delight to have on our custodial team. She is never without a smile. She takes pride in her work and has great respect for everyone around her. We here at St. Thomas know that Sharon will help anyone whenever she can.”
This week we are also celebrating Sami Jo Whalen, a teacher at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School. Sami Jo was nominated by two colleagues who said:
“Ms. Whalen has thrown her heart, soul, and time into the music program at St. Francis. She directed the choir and guided the Grade eight’s to a gold medal at the Barrie Kiwanis Music Festival. She was the vocal director, set designer, and producer for the school musical, among many other things. She does this all with a great sense of humour and a calm demeanor. SFA is lucky to have her.”
We would like to thank Sharon and Sami Jo for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
