As part of its plan to strengthen rural and northern education, the Ministry of Education announced on June 28, 2017 (Memo 2017:B09) a Rural and Northern Education supplement of $20 million as an enhancement to the Grants for Student Needs (GSN). The funding will allow school boards to further improve education for students in rural communities.
Each board must report publicly on how these funds will be used, as well as which schools are recipients of RNEF support.
For the 2022-2023 school year, Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board received a funding allocation of $480,399.
