Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.

This week we are celebrating James Cooper, the Energy James Cooper Management Systems Coordinator at Facilities Services. James was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“James has been with us at Facilities Services for 14 years. His dedication and expertise in building automation controls and energy management are heavily relied on when it comes to our buildings systems and equipment running reliably and efficiently. He is a great resource for multiple departments within our board. He lends his time and expertise to our technicians daily when troubleshooting our schools' various systems and is a key part to the success of our department as a whole. We are lucky to have James as a leading member of our team at Facilities Services.”

Mark LittlewoodThis week we are also celebrating Mark Littlewood, the Health and Safety Officer at the Catholic Education Centre. Mark was nominated by a colleague, who said:

“Mark works continuously to ensure the health and safety of the staff at all our school locations and sites, and strongly believes that while health and safety is everyone's responsibility, the Health & Safety department plays an integral role in decreasing the overall risk for all staff (and in turn, the students as well).

Health & Safety generally goes unnoticed, until something occurs and his knowledge and expertise is required to weigh in on a situation. Mark has been with SMCDSB for 10 years, and was a huge resource especially through the early days of COVID recommendations and implementation. Mark also works closely with our Leadership team to ensure that our Board is aware of any changes in Legislation or Laws that could affect us overall.

Thank you for all your hard work Mark, ensuring that we have great policies and procedures to follow, and that our workplaces are safe for all. You are an important part of our organization.”

We would like to thank James and Mark for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
