Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Andrea Taurasi-Wood, a
designated early childhood educator (DECE) at St. Monica’s Catholic School. Andrea was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Andrea is a phenomenal educator who dedicates a great deal of time and energy into ensuring that the students she works with are cared for and feel good about themselves while at school. Andrea has been a DECE for a number of years but has also recently completed teachers college while working full-time. A big congratulations!!
Andrea is one of those people who gets along well with everyone and is a true team player. The St. Monica’s school community is so lucky to have such a caring and dedicated educator working with our kindergarten students. Thank you for all you do Andrea.”
This week we are also celebrating Jackie Sweet, a teacher at Notre Dame Catholic School. Jackie was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Giving of her time and knowledge, and very patient with everyone. Jackie is very giving and kind to all staff, families, and students. Jackie is a fabulous teaching partner and has many ideas throughout the day with fun and exciting centres for our class to experience. Jackie treats every day as a new beginning and doesn't let the small things ruin her day. A pure joy to be around and continuously learn from a new perspective. I look forward to coming to work/school every day, Jackie is a great friend and coworker!”
This week we are also celebrating Patricia Kostiuk, a
custodian at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School. Patricia was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Patricia is a custodian at St. Thomas Aquinas. She is a quiet yet strong woman, she is a pleasure to work with, a great co-worker, and a wonderful team player. Patricia is always ready & willing to lend a hand when needed and to support anyone in need. We are very lucky to have Patricia in our school community. Thanks Patricia!”
We would like to thank Andrea, Jackie, and Patricia for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
