The health unit works to prevent the spread of disease through the promotion of and access to immunization in our communities.
We:
- Educate and answer the general public’s questions about immunization.
- Complete surveillance of students’ immunization records in accordance with legislation.
- Provide access to immunizations in schools and public clinics.
- Investigate reports of adverse events following immunization.
- Distribute publicly-funded vaccines to health care providers.
- Educate and support health care providers related to vaccine management and storage and handling practices.
