Sister Catherine Donnelly Recognized For EQAO Math Achievement
Posted on 05/14/2019

For some, Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) testing can be a daunting time. Over the past three years, Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School in Barrie has used a variety of techniques to improve student success in mathematics and has recently been awarded with the EQAO 2018 Dr. Bette M. Stephenson Recognition of Achievement.

Sister Catherine Donnelly is only one of 22 schools in the province who has been recognized this year. By using a wide range of information, including EQAO data, educators at these schools developed strategies based on their unique circumstances, and have seen improvements in student achievement over time.

In EQAO results over the last three years, these 22 schools have shown strength and growth in student attitudinal and behavioural data from EQAO questionnaires and improvement in EQAO results for Grades 3 and 6 math (for elementary schools) or for both Grade 9 applied and academic math (for secondary schools).

We would like to congratulate the staff and students at Sister Catherine Donnelly on this great achievement.
