On Monday, April 14, Monsignor Michael O’Leary Catholic School in Bracebridge, had the incredible honour of welcoming a very special guest—Mr. Fred Fox, brother of Canadian hero Terry Fox.

The entire school community gathered for an assembly where Mr. Fox shared  stories about Terry’s life, from his early years to the Marathon of Hope.

He visited the school to recognize a remarkable milestone: 25 years of participation in the Terry Fox Run and an $56,000 raised by the school community in support of cancer research. Mr. Fox spoke passionately about Terry's perseverance, goal-setting, and how students are helping keep his dream alive.

A highlight of the day was seeing every student and staff member proudly wearing a Terry Fox Run t-shirt in celebration of this legacy. Mr. Fox was touched by the spirit of the school and stayed after the presentation to meet students and sign their shirts.

His visit served as a powerful reminder of the impact one person can have—and how, together, communities like Monsignor Michael O’Leary Catholic School can continue to make a difference.
