Families in Innisfil gathered for a Family Wellness Night at St. André Bessette Catholic School on March 25. Hosted by the Town of Innisfil, this free event gave families an opportunity to connect, learn, and enjoy time together.
The event celebrated the many cultures and backgrounds that make Innisfil special. Families participated in hands-on activities, listened to guest speakers, and visited the community resource fair to learn about local programs and services. The Flavours of Our Community experience was a big hit, offering delicious cultural dishes from local food vendors.
Principal Marcelle Edinboro shared, "An event like this definitely benefits our community because it brings everyone together. It gives us a chance to celebrate our differences and be part of a broader picture."
Vice-principal Julia Cerello added, "It's also an opportunity for everyone within our community, regardless of their nationality, race, experience, and education, to come and see what we have to offer in our Innisfil community. And we're excited to offer some food tastings as well so we can experience and connect with cultures in our area."
Jennifer Lloyd, Wellness Project Coordinator at the Town of Innisfil, was also in attendance. She reflected on the event’s broader impact: "Our goal was just to try and bring people together and make community connections. This year's theme, Growing Together, really reflects Innisfil's growth and increasing diversity, and we just really want to celebrate that."
It was a wonderful evening filled with laughter, learning, and new connections.
