Celebrating Staff LogoEvery week, we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who a parent, student, or colleague has recognized.

This week, we are celebrating Rosangela Volpe, a Rosangela Volpe designated early childhood educator (DECE) at St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic School. Rosangela was nominated by a colleague who said:

“There are so many great qualities to share about Rose, she is a role model and selfless person, an example to all. I really enjoy seeing all her fun activities that she plans on a daily basis (she truly enjoys her littles, and it shows). I have had the opportunity to work alongside her in the past and have always enjoyed her positive outlook on life. This is a Jack Hartmann quote that sums up Rose perfectly: "We are the teachers for our children and must lead the way by being dedicated to living peacefully every day. Show our children how to be kind, how to be helpful, and have fun together, and how to peacefully resolve disagreements and conflicts." If you are lucky enough to cross paths with Rose, you will completely understand all her greatness. Shine bright, Mrs. Volpe!”

Laura NolanThis week, we are also celebrating Laura Nolan, Supervisor of Custodial Services at Facilities Services. Laura was nominated by a colleague who said:

“I would like to nominate Laura because she is a fantastic supervisor, always mentoring me to work hard to achieve my goals and to help me move up in the board to higher ranks. She is always available to call and answer questions when I am stuck on something, either as an acting Lead or a Custodian. She always makes me feel comfortable asking questions on various job-related tasks. I feel truly blessed to call her my supervisor and hope to work with her for many years.”

We would like to thank Rosangela and Laura for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
