Every week, we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who a parent, student, or colleague has recognized.
This week, we are celebrating Patricia Stone, a teacher at

Sister Catherine Donnelly Catholic School. Patricia was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Patty Stone is a phenomenal teacher not only to her students but also to her co-workers. As a new teacher, entering an LTO is a stressful time, but thankfully, I was blessed enough to have Patty next door! She saved me on my first day and has continued to be a mentor for me throughout my LTO. She emulates the kind of teacher I want to become, real, always trying her best. Thank you for everything, Patty. The SCD community is lucky to have an amazing person like yourself!”

This week, we are also celebrating Chase Thompson, a teacher at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School. Chase was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Mr. Thompson challenges students and consistently inspires them to unlock their full potential and achieve their God-given talents. He is a team player who collaborates seamlessly with colleagues to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment. Mr. Thompson goes above and beyond, dedicating countless hours to extracurricular activities such as coaching cross-country, numerous school basketball teams, and track and field. Above all, Mr. Thompson's passion for teaching makes learning enjoyable, turning every lesson into an exciting adventure!”
We would like to thank Patricia and Chase for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
