Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Lisa Gomes, a teacher at St.
Marie of the Incarnation Catholic School. Lisa was nominated by a parent who said:
“As a parent of St. Marie of the Incarnation, I’d like to nominate/recognize Mrs. Gomes Grade 1 teacher. Mrs. Gomes is a kind, loving-hearted person. She is dedicated and shows compassion for her students and all their different learning needs. She is committed to learning new tips and tricks and is willing to go the extra mile to give her students extra support. She welcomes everyone with her warm smile and humor. She is the kind of teacher that makes you want to go to school each day. Thank you Mrs. Gomes for all your hard work, love, and support. My son’s Grade 1 experience has been great because of you. Knowing he is with someone loving and caring who is teaching him warms our hearts.”
This week we are also celebrating Lindsey Jackson, a teacher at Holy Cross Catholic School. Lindsey was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Mrs. Jackson is a natural-born teacher. She greets her students every morning with the biggest smile and warm blessings. Her passion for teaching is truly inspiring and has inspired her students to come in every day and try their very best. Her efforts to have the perfect decor, and best movement breaks, along with new and updated lesson plans to keep her students engaged is contagious. Mrs. Jackson not only teaches academics but teaches about kindness and filling one another's buckets. She is the teacher every student dreams of having. Mrs. Jackson is changing her student's lives and igniting their love for learning. There is a saying "One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world", I believe Mrs. Jackson is one of those teachers. Holy Cross Catholic School is blessed to have her.”
We would like to thank Lisa and Lindsey for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
