Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who a parent, student or colleague has recognized.
This week, we celebrate Julia Perrotta, a St. Charles

Catholic School teacher. Julia was nominated by a parent who said:
“Julia is my child's teacher, and she has made a world of difference in my child's confidence and enjoyment of school. She is a teacher who puts in a lot of thought, consideration, and effort into each lesson and assignment she does. However, her passion goes beyond the academic components of the classroom. She truly cares about her students' success (whatever that may look like for each individual student) and their well-being. She ensures that in her classroom (and beyond the classroom), her students are feeling and doing their best. She is friendly, kind, approachable, and most of all caring. Truly a great educator! ”

This week, we also celebrate Maria Simon, a St. Monica’s Catholic School teacher. Maria was nominated by a parent who said:
“Ms. Simon is an amazing teacher who truly cares about her students. She is very dedicated to her job. She brings great energy and organization to the kindergarten class. She lights up her classroom with her smile, and the children adore her.”
We thank Julia and Maria for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
