Every week, we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week, we are celebrating Deanna Neville-Verardi,
the principal at St. Angela Merici Catholic School. Deanna was nominated by a parent who said:
“Mrs. Verardi was an amazing principal! She was always present and friendly and greeted the students with kindness. In my opinion, she always did a fantastic job!
We thank you, Mrs Verardi, and wish you great success!”
This week, we are also celebrating Lora Wishart, a teacher at Sacred Heart Catholic School. Lora was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Lora has done a lot for Sacred Heart since her return to our school community. From coaching multiple school sports teams to planning and hosting many school events, she adds tremendous value to our small school. She has been finding and presenting learning opportunities for teachers and our students for experiential learning as a community ambassador for our school, and is a community advocate, often promoting our school to local businesses to support us with supplies and donations due to our minimal resources in order to provide our students with as many opportunities as possible. This is all on top of the amazing work she does every day as an ELIIT, helping our students improve their literacy while also making it enjoyable for them. Our students are always looking forward to working with Mrs. Wishart. If students aren't working with her in her literacy room, they are looking forward to being coached by her, dancing in the halls during our dance on Friday mornings, or being greeted by her warm smile on their way to class.”
We would like to thank Deanna and Lora for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
