Every week, we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who a parent, student, or colleague has recognized.
This week, we are celebrating Deanna Howell, a teacher
at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School. Deanna was nominated by a parent who said:
“Mrs. Howell is an outstanding support to the students at St Joan of Arc. I would like to recognize her for the outstanding dedication and care she brings to her role as a teacher. She consistently creates a classroom environment where every student feels encouraged to participate, raise their hand, and ask questions with confidence. The time and effort she devotes to helping students after school—on her own time, as well as being available during her breaks- demonstrate a remarkable level of commitment to student success. She goes above and beyond, making a lasting impact on her students.”
This week, we are also celebrating Brad Crittenden, a teacher at St. Cecilia Catholic School. Brad was nominated by a parent who said:
“Mr. Crittenden is a caring, kind, and helpful teacher. He is always willing to help with school curricular and co-curricular events, including school graduation, intramural sports, and cross-country meets. He goes above and beyond to create an environment of mutual respect in his classroom. He knows how to have fun, as shown by his participation in the school teacher band, Paper Jam. He has a bright, positive attitude, and his students are lucky to have him as their teacher.”
