Every week, we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student, or colleague.
This week, we are celebrating Corinda Mooney, a

teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School. Corinda was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Mrs. Mooney is one of the most organised and dedicated teachers in our board. Many students have benefited from the structure and dependable routines provided in her classroom. She is open to implementing new ideas and strategies in her teaching and finds ways to make learning fun. Students come out of her class with stronger literacy and computer skills.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Mooney has also coached teams and planned school-wide events, including Golf in Schools, trips to King's Wharf Theatre, and skating days. She has also been the parent council liaison and has run the staff social committee.
We appreciate all you have done for OLL over the years, Mrs. Mooney!”

This week, we are also celebrating Kelly Porter, a vice principal at St. Monica’s Catholic School. Kelly was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Kelly has recently joined SMO as a vice principal and has made such an effort to support staff and students. She is dedicated to our school community and is welcoming to all. She truly wants the best for the students and will go above and beyond to make that happen. She has stepped into the role with great enthusiasm and leadership. I am so happy to have such a great administrative team at SMO. Thank you, Kelly, for all that you do.”
We would like to thank Corinda and Kelly for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
