Every week, we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, a student, or a colleague.
This week, we are celebrating Brenda Mercier and

Stacey Hedderly, custodians at St. Noel Chabanel Catholic School. Brenda and Stacey were nominated by a colleague who said:
“If you're looking for dedication, look no further than Brenda and Stacey! They're always staying late to finish up tasks, helping students, and picking up extra shifts when needed — truly leading by example. They're not only hard workers but also bring a positive attitude to everything they do. Always smiling, always helpful. I had the pleasure of working with them for a few months while covering for someone, and I saw firsthand how appreciated they are by everyone around them. You guys rock! Thank you for everything you do.”

This week, we are also celebrating Janet Cinnamon, a vice principal at St. Peter’s Catholic Secondary School. Janet was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Janet is an integral part of any community she is in. Her enthusiasm and unstoppable energy greet students and staff each day. She goes out of her way to check in on at-risk students, which helps them know they are seen in the larger student body. Her spirit and infectious laugh brighten every day, and her positivity provides light on even the most gloomy day.”
We would like to thank Brenda, Stacey and Janet for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
