Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Amanda Harrison, Manager of Health and Wellness at the Catholic Education Centre. Amanda was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Amanda started with us almost 1 year ago. She brought to our Board many years of experience working in disability management with school boards. She hit the ground running and has handled all challenges that have come her way with professionalism, expertise, and confidence. She has also taken disability management from a paper-based system to a completely digital one. The expertise she brings to disability health and safety is invaluable and we are blessed to have her”
This week we are also celebrating Stephanie Maher. Stephanie is now retired, but served as the Board's K-12 Religious Education and Chaplaincy Services Coordinator at Academic Services. She was nominated by a colleague who said:
“Stephanie has provided exemplary work as a Catholic educator in our school board for 37 years. The first 12 in elementary schools on our board, 18 as an elementary consultant, and the last 7 as Religious Education and Chaplaincy Services Coordinator K-12. Congratulations on a very well-deserved retirement on June 30, 2024.”
This week we also celebrate Amy Moreau, a teacher at Notre Dame Catholic School. Amy was nominated by a colleague who said:
“I have had the privilege of working with Amy for only a few months. During that short time, I have witnessed Mrs. Moreau put her heart and soul into teaching grade 1. She spends countless hours planning and prepping for her class, ensuring things are organized for the following day's events. Mrs. Moreau always has a smile on her face and the students are thrilled to see her every day. She is a team player and genuinely cares about her coworkers and her students. Mrs Moreau is one of those teachers who will be remembered forever. Thank you for being you!”
We would like to thank Amanda, Stephanie and Amy for their commitment to Catholic education at our board.
