SMCDSB joins communities across Canada in mourning the tragic events in Tumbler Ridge. We are praying for the students, staff, families, and first responders affected by this devastating act of violence.
In times of sorrow, we turn to our faith for strength and comfort. Let us pray together as a school board community.
✠ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Let us pray.
God of comfort and healing,
we come to you today in deep sadness
at the tragic death of so many
in the town of Tumbler Ridge, B.C.
There is so much we cannot understand,
and perhaps never will.
But we know that you are always close to the broken-hearted,
and we ask you to strengthen and comfort
all those who have been impacted by these terrible events.
May they be enfolded in the love and support of our entire country,
and gently supported in this time of confusion and pain.
Welcome into paradise those who have died,
and reassure us all that you are with us
as we grapple with these troubling and heartbreaking events.
All of this we ask in the name of Jesus, our Risen Lord and our source of hope.
Amen.
✠ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
