We are excited to offer a special opportunity for a student artist to contribute to our 2026 Retirement and Years of Service Celebration. One student will be commissioned to create an original piece of artwork to honour our 2026 retirees. The artwork must include a faith element, reflect the spirit of SMCDSB, and be suitable for professional printing.

The selected recipient will:

• Be recognized at the Board’s Celebrating Excellence Evening on May 21, 2026

• Receive an art supply kit to assist with the creation of their artwork 

• Receive a framed print of their work and a certificate of appreciation co-signed by the Director of Education and Board Chair

Student artists must apply using the online application form and submit at least one sample of their work by March 20. A selection committee will choose the successful applicant by early April where they will have until mid-May to complete their submission.
