Every week we celebrate individuals in the SMCDSB community who have been recognized for going above and beyond to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic. This week we are celebrating David K. and Delila M.

David K. is a student at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in 
Barrie. He was nominated by a family member who said:

David has been volunteering at the Salvation Army Barrie Baysidedavid Mission every day of the pandemic helping serve meals to the homeless. He also helps the maintenance staff with cleaning rooms and picking up donations from various businesses in the city. He also regularly converses with the residents and helps them through this difficult time. He also helps with wellness checks on residents and those that live in other Bayside Mission homes in Barrie. Everyday David can be found working from 8:30-4:30 and then home to concentrate on elearning.”

 

Delila M. is a student  at St. Noel Chabanel Catholic School in Wasaga Beach. She was nominated by a staff member who said:

delilaDelila donated her saved money -$24, and some hand sanitizer to CGMH (her dad works for Canadian Mist but they are also making hand sanitizer at the moment). She did all this on her own back!”

We would like to thank David and Delila for their incredible effort in helping others during this time.
