Every week we celebrate SMCDSB staff members who have been recognized by a parent, student or colleague.
This week we are celebrating Pamela Schelling and Lucy Balugas.
Pamela is a teacher at St. Mary's Catholic School in Barrie. She was nominated by a colleague, who said:
“Pam is a hard working, caring and dedicated teacher who strives to provide her
students with meaningful lessons. She is the lead- teacher for our school's Social Justice / Me to We Club and every year she organizes the food drives, coat drives, gifts for seniors, the Water and Social Justice Walk, selling candy-o-grams and so much more. Pam is also the coach of the volleyball teams and the primary dodgeball teams. Pam is a thoughtful and amazing person to work alongside and a great asset to the St. Mary's community.”
Lucy Balugas is the office administrator at St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School in Barrie. She was nominated by a parent, who said:
“Lucy goes above and beyond for me and my child when we need her assistance. Grade 9 was a tough year for both me and my daughter. While we were trying to figure things out, she was always willing and able to help. Pleasant personality and attitude at all times.”
We would like to thank Pamela and Lucy for her commitment to Catholic education at our board.
