MaKala King Scholarship Shows Its Support to St. Theresa's CHS
Posted on 09/22/2017

For the past 15 years, the MaKala King Scholarship has been supporting students at St. Theresa’s Catholic High School in Midland as they pursue their post-secondary education.

MaKala King, a graduate of St. Theresa’s, passed away in 2002, and is remembered for her warm and caring personality, her exceptional athletic ability, and her love of family and friends. Her family has graciously sent a heartfelt letter thanking the community for their ongoing support over the last 15 years.

Thank you to our caring & generous community –

On behalf of the family of MaKala King, who passed away in December 2002, we would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to our most caring community. The MaKala King Scholarship was set up with St. Theresa’s Catholic High School where MaKala graduated in June 2002. Over the past 15 years a total of $43,000 was shared by 28 worthy graduating students proceeding to post secondary school, both college and university. These 28 students & their families have expressed their appreciation to our family members and we would like to pass it on to our deserving community. YOU were the ones who made it possible. YOU should be very proud of yourselves. With these scholarships, you have allowed these students and their families to ease their financial burden, making their transition to a higher education a little easier. Praise to St. Theresa’s Catholic High School staff for their involvement, it has been a pleasure working with you.

Thank you!

G.W. King & Rosanne LeClair.

On behalf of the SMCDSB community, we would like to thank MaKala’s family and the St. Theresa’s community for their ongoing support and assistance as our students enter into a new phase of their lives.
