Evan Lidow Set to Play for Team Ontario
Posted on 07/17/2018

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is filled with talented and hard-working athletes. Evan Lidow from St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Barrie is no exception. He has recently been selected to play for Team Ontario’s under 16 Boys Volleyball Team.

Evan has consistently proven himself as an important player on the St. Joseph’s Junior Boys Volleyball Team. This year, he was voted Junior Boys MVP, and helped the team win gold at the Georgian Bay Secondary School Association (GBSSA) Championships.

Outside of school, Evan is a hard-working member of the Barrie Elites Volleyball Club. The Elites 16U team competed with 48 other teams across Ontario, and finished in tenth place at Provincials in April. At Provincials, Evan was assessed for a High Performance Centre (HPC) and was among the 108 selected from over 700 players in Ontario. Since then, Evan has been training each week with the Varsity Boys Volleyball Team at Georgian College.

His hard work recently paid off, when, after attending the HPC, Evan was selected to play for Team Ontario.

Congratulations to Evan on his incredible accomplishments, and we wish him and Team Ontario the best of luck as they compete at the 2018 Canada Cup in British Columbia beginning July 19.
