JANUARY 31, 2018 - BARRIE, ON: The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board recently held its inaugural meeting of the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) and the committee is pleased to announce the acclamation of Theresa Sanders as Chairperson and Angela Nardella as Vice-Chairperson.

This will be Theresa's second year as SEAC Chairperson. Ab Falconi, Superintendent of Education, commented, "it will be a pleasure to continue working with Theresa in her role as SEAC Chairperson. She has proven herself to be a hard working and knowledgeable leader for this committee." SEAC membership includes two school board trustees, a student trustee, board staff representatives and up to 12 members nominated by local associations of parents.

The members of SEAC have a strong interest in advocating for parents who have children with special needs or abilities. They also make recommendations to the Board of Trustees regarding special education programs, services and the Board budget.
