At the first board meeting of the 2016-17 school year, our Catholic community welcomed new student trustee, Andrea Chiappetta. The meeting was held last night, September 14, 2016 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School in Barrie and included a Mass and the commissioning of Andrea into his new role.

Andrea, a Grade 12 student from St. Joan of Arc Catholic High School, was selected by the Student Senate to represent the 21,000 students in our Catholic schools. He will work alongside student representatives from our nine secondary schools, to bring the student voice to our trustees and the Superintendent of Secondary Education.

Andrea’s commitment to Catholic education was evident during the commissioning, as he pledged to be an instrument of unity and peace in his community, and to encourage all students to use and celebrate their abilities and talents.
