Not sure what to do after high school? Perhaps post-secondary education isn’t your cup of tea. Consider learning about skilled trades and all of the opportunities available for your future.

Entering a skilled trade provides individuals with a well-paid career, without having to spend years at a post-secondary institution. Unfortunately, students and parents don’t know enough about alternative opportunities such as apprenticeships.

On Tuesday, September 27, Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School in Orillia will be hosting a skilled trades fair. The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) has joined with the tech and manufacturing department to organize an amazing event for Orillia schools and families. Doors will open from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. for students, and 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. for parents.  Students  are invited to peruse the booths and learn about the variety of trades they can enter, even while they are still in high school.

The event is sure to be an informative day for both students and parents. Come out and explore the trades!
