God of all goodness,

we give you thanks

for your many blessings to us.

We thank you for the gift of life,

for making us your sons and daughters,

each one of us unique and special.

We thank you for family and community ,

for those relationships that bring joy

and help us to grow into the people you created us to be.

In this harvest season, we give thanks

for the abundance of crops,

for the  food that helps

to nurture our bodies and to sustain our health.

We give thanks, too, for the beauty of creation,

as we watch the leaves turn from green to gold

in this autumn season.

As we pause to be grateful on

this Thanksgiving weekend,

help us to have thankful hearts every day.

We ask this prayer through Jesus, the One

who gave perfect thanks.
