At a news conference held today in Bradford West Gwillimbury, MPP Ann Hoggarth announced $10.7 million in new funding to replace St. Charles Catholic School with a brand new facility. This replacement school will reside in the same location as the current St. Charles in Bradford and will have space to accommodate 470 students, as well as two child care centre rooms.

Bradford West Gwillimbury is a high growth area and this new facility will help alleviate accommodation pressure in schools within the community. Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board staff will be working on the design for this important project over the coming months.

"The Ministry of Education has recognized the importance and value of providing students with clean, safe, accessible and progressive learning environments. They are making considerable investments in education and childcare infrastructure and we are very grateful that St. Charles will be a recipient of this investment," said Brian Beal, Director of Education. "I know our staff is anxious to begin working on this significant project and I also know that the students, staff and families can’t wait to see the plans for their brand new school."
