With another school year, comes another successful Terry Fox Run. Schools in the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board continue to support the Marathon of Hope that began 37 years ago. The 2016 Terry Fox Run at SMCDSB had 48 schools participate and raised an incredible total of $79,527.86 for cancer research.

Over the years, our schools continue to impress us with their dedication to helping others. St. Angela Merici Catholic School in Bradford was our top 2016 fundraiser with a total of $7,165.40. St. John Paul II Catholic School in Barrie participated in their 24th Terry Fox Run - the most of all our schools, and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School in Tottenham has raised an amazing total of $99,864.34 to date. The total funds raised over the years by all SMCDSB schools is $1,141,809.11. This is an incredible accomplishment.

The continued participation from our schools has helped fund over 1,200 cancer research projects across Canada. We thank all of our schools, and look forward to your participation in 2017.
