Beyond the Classroom
Beyond the Classroom

Academics are important, but there is more to school than just reading, writing and arithmetic. We know that a student’s learning journey is greatly enhanced when they become involved in activities outside the classroom. We also know that cocurricular activities are important to students in our schools – they love participating and this is reflected by the great number of teams, activities and clubs at each of our schools.

We offer a wide range of cocurricular activities at all of our elementary and secondary schools. Whether it is athletics, student governance, volunteer programs, arts activities or social justice initiatives, there is something available for everyone. There is no doubt that these activities help students develop their skills, talents and interests so they can gain important life skills, preparing them for the future.

By participating you will gain important life skills:
  • Creativity
  • Responsibility
  • Leadership
  • Teamwork
  • Shared-decision making
  • Sense of fair-play
  • Ability to compromise
  • Faith development
  • Stewardship
  • Gift of giving

What else...

  • You could discover a life-long interest or hobby
  • You could become involved in related volunteer opportunities
  • You can reinforce existing skills or find new skills you didn't know you had
  • You can feel the pride of accomplishment
  • You can discover a new path or destination for your future

No matter what you become involved with and what you gain from it, there is no doubt that learning outside of the classroom will help you become a more well-rounded individual and that will benefit you now and in the future.
