Our Catholic Community

Our Catholic Community

Our schools are Christ-centred learning environments that foster the spiritual and moral development of our students as well as their academic achievement. We teach our Catholic values in the classroom and also provide opportunities outside the classroom so that our students can become committed to living their faith values. Our staff provide many engaging opportunities for students, so they are poised to make positive contributions to society now and in the future.

We maintain close relationships with our parishes and other Catholic organizations so that we can celebrate and promote our beliefs as a strong and vibrant Catholic community. We encourage parents and students to also become involved. Our parishes as well as Catholic organizations like the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Women's League, St. Vincent de Paul and ShareLife, to name a few, are always looking for people to become involved with the many worthy causes they support.

Celebrate With Us

The distinctive nature of our Catholic school communities enables us to integrate prayer, faith practices and service into our learning environments. We encourage parents and other members of the community to become involved as we celebrate our faith.

Our schools often celebrate Masses and other special liturgical celebrations. We also hold blessings and celebrations for school openings and other significant milestones. These events are an opportunity to celebrate the importance of Catholic education and the special relationship our schools share with the church, family and community.

Catholic Education Week

Catholic Education Week is a unique opportunity to celebrate the great work of Catholic schools and the dynamic and creative integration of Catholic teachings and Gospel values across the curriculum. The Ontario Catholic Schools Trustees' Association, who takes a leadership role in coordinating celebrations, chooses a different theme every year. In our Board, we celebrate that theme throughout the year and then take one week to pay particular attention to importance of faith-filled learning.

ShareLife

For more than 20 years, ShareLife has been raising funds to support individuals who are going through some very difficult times. ShareLife conducts parish, corporate and community campaigns across the Archdiocese of Toronto and funds raised support ShareLife's 34 agencies, helping more than 200,000 people each year.

Our students and staff support ShareLife in a variety of ways. In particular, we make time during ShareLife Week (this year February 25 to 29) to celebrate and promote ShareLife in our schools through fundraising and volunteer efforts.
